Areas I am developing as an individual

Tess Brown

Library Diversity & Equity

In 2024 General Wolfe School received the Teacher's Idea Fund. I took on the role of making our school Library more inclusive and to represent our diverse population. While also creating our outdoor education program.

"This project embraces a holistic approach to mental health and well-being by embedding culturally responsive practices and an equity focus on social, emotional, and academic learning. Students receive an opportunity to build upon their individual and collective strengths in living a good life. Teachers build capacity in creating safe, inclusive, and flourishing learning communities that honour Indigenous ways of knowing and being to improve mental health literacy." https://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/teachers_idea_fund/index.html

Outdoor Education

Students need time in nature. Whether it be taking lessons outdoors, or studying the world around us, outdoor education is vital.
